You’re in safe hands. Over 15 years of research has led to a state-of-the-art molecular diagnostic test for five genotypic biomarkers in the urine. The test provides a score that helps doctors accurately diagnose bladder cancer.
Our research shows that messenger RNA (mRNA) levels of five biomarker genes are present at higher levels in urine from patients with, rather than without, bladder cancer.1
Only a small sample of mid-stream urine is needed for the Cxbladder test. At the laboratory, the urine sample undergoes several precise processes to extract and purify the mRNA present.
We then use a process called Reverse Transcription quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-qPCR) to amplify and measure the biomarker genes of interest.
It is the quantity of these biomarker genes in relation to each other that we use to calculate a Cxbladder test score.
